Job Title: Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) – Wound Care Specialist
Location: Houston, TX
Job Type: Full-time / Part-time
Salary: $54,000.00 – $75,000.00
Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) specializing in wound care to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality care to patients requiring specialized treatment for acute and chronic wounds. This role is crucial in ensuring the comfort and recovery of our patients, working closely with physicians, registered nurses, and other medical professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform wound care assessments, treatments, and dressing changes in accordance with medical protocols.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients with wounds.
• Monitor wound healing progress and update medical records accurately and in a timely manner.
• Educate patients and caregivers on wound care procedures, infection prevention, and proper home care techniques.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
• Ensure compliance with infection control and safety protocols.
• Provide compassionate patient-centered care, addressing concerns and maintaining open communication with patients and their families.
Requirements:
• Current and valid LVN license in the state of Texas.
• Certification or specialized training in wound care is preferred (e.g., Wound Care Certification or WCC).
• Minimum 1-2 years of experience in wound care or a related healthcare field.
• Strong knowledge of wound care practices, infection control, and patient education.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
